About Amorphous Core

Amorphous is a non-crystal material developed when high-temperature liquids are rapidly frozen. The energy loss (hysteresis loss) is minimal when the magnetic induction flux travels through the iron core since there is no rule of atomic arrangement. Furthermore, because the thickness is roughly 0.03 mm—almost 1/10 of that of silicon steel—eddy current loss is reduced. As a result, it is possible to reduce the no-load loss (hysteresis loss and eddy current loss) to roughly 1/5 of silicon steel. Amorphous steel ribbon is coiled to form the core of transformers with amorphous cores.

We manufacture high-quality amorphous cores for single-phase and three-phase distribution transformers according to customer needs. These cores are made of high-quality Metglas® amorphous metal. Some parts of the cores are coated with epoxy for added strength.

Our coils are simple to assemble with bonded edges, ensuring
core integrity and reliable transformers. We anneal the magnetic
field to relieve stress and optimise magnetic properties. Our cores
undergo thorough testing to ensure consistent performance and
minimise transformer losses.

Amorphous Core FAQs

How does an Amorphous Core differ from other types of Cores ?
Amorphous cores differ from others because they are made from a special substance cooled quickly from hot liquids. This reduces energy loss when magnets pass through, making them more efficient than other cores.
What are the Properties of an Amorphous Core ?
Amorphous cores have low energy loss, high magnetic permeability, and excellent magnetic properties.
What is the Composition of the Amorphous Core ?
Amorphous cores are made from a non-crystalline material formed by the rapid cooling of hot liquids, typically composed of iron, nickel, and boron.
Can Amorphous Cores be Customized for Specific Applications ?
Amorphous cores can be customised for specific applications and tailored to meet the requirements of different transformers and other magnetic devices.
